The death of a close friend

Saturday 9th March 1967

Dear diary, my friend has just died; I can feel salty wet tear drops roll down my cheek, I miss having to stick up for each other and cheering each other up when we feel glum. I will never foregt his last words “thank you for,” and then he passed away. I looked up into the big blue sky and shouted “thank you for what?!”

(this bit of text is about a film that we watched in literacy)

Connor, I really like your story. It tells me about your friend’s way of supporting you and how you supported your friend. It tells me how much you will miss them. You have used some great adjectives to describe your tears.

I wonder what your friend was saying thank you for? Can you imagine?

Keep up the great work. I’ll visit back soon to see what you have written.

I enjoyed reading your piece about the piano but I didn’t understand it because I haven’t seen the film. I’m glad you added that it was a film you’d watched in Literacy or I’d have felt very worried because it seemed that someone realy had died.

Your description of the tears is very good.

Have you read Fraser’s blog about the same film? He’s written several paragraphs about several incidents in the film. And Leia begins with a description of the film and when and why you watched it. That helped me understand.

Your blog is becoming a very long and interesting place. It has lots of entries about a range of different subjects Very well done.

I love this piece. The emotion portrayed in this piece is wonderful. I enjoy the sadness and curiosity that is acted out and the imagery is very intricate. Good Job!

That is a very emotional piece! I have some close friends, and I can’t even imagine losing them. This year we are all going off to seperate high schools, but that is nothing compared to the death of a loved one…. The piece is very descriptive, and you can feel the anger and sadness in the narrators voice! Nice job!
